Leak detectors sense when a liquid is leaking from a pipe, tank or other recipient and are primordaly used when visual detection is not possible or difficult such as underground tanks. Leakages from underground storage tanks, or even from above ground tanks, will results in contamination of the soil or groundwater. Because heat transfer fluids are electrically conductive, they can be used as a leak detection fluid in combination with leak detection equipment.
Freezium and Zitrec S both have a much higher electrical conductivity than Zitrec LC, Zitrec MC, but all products can be used for this application.
Quite some countries have strict regulations on the maximum allowed concentrations and remediation of contaminated groundwater or soil usually involves extremely high costs. It is therefore essential to have an effective leak detection equipment, reliable in detecting the smallest leak to give early warnings and thus reduce the damage as much as possible.
