Arteco is a Joint Venture company of Total and Chevron Corporation and was created in November 1998. In Arteco both parent companies have combined their strengths in corrosion inhibition technology and manufacturing. Arteco is building on an inheritance of technology, creativity and expertise to develop and market its products in various applications.
Arteco represents both Chevron Corporation and Total in Europe for the production, development and marketing of engine coolants, heat transferfluids and corrosion inhibition for a wide range of industries. As such Arteco has been granted the use of both Chevron Corporation and Total's technology and brand names for automotive coolants. For industrial applications, Arteco has its own brandname Zitrec. The
productrange has been completed with Freezium, for which Arteco signed an agreement with Kemira Chemicals.
Arteco's Zitrec heat transfer fluids are produced in Schoten, near Antwerp, and can handle as well bulk production and filling of drums, containers and 20L pails. The R&D department located in Ghent (Belgium) continuously strives to improve existing processes and to develop new products that respond to specific customer needs. Today, about 15% of the workforce is employed in development.
